Cambodia and Australia Agree to MoU for Enhanced Skilled Labor Mobility and Vocational Training

The Cambodian Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT), led by H.E. Heng Sour, agreed on January 27, 2026, to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) in Melbourne and the Geelong Chamber of Commerce (Australia). This significant collaboration focuses on five key areas:

1. **Capacity Building:** Establishing strong cooperation in institutional capacity building and fostering robust connectivity with relevant Australian industries.

2. **Skill Exchange:** Promoting mutual skill training and exchange programs between Cambodian citizens and Australian partners.

3. **Employment Opportunities:** Providing Cambodian citizens with advanced vocational training to secure jobs in priority skilled sectors within Australia.

4. **Workforce Development:** Supporting the creation of a highly skilled labor force that meets the demands of both current and future labor markets, while simultaneously addressing Australia’s reported shortage of technical labor.

5. **Future Foundation:** This MoU is viewed by Minister Heng Sour as a robust foundation for future high-potential cooperation in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) between the two nations.
