On January 29, 2026, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, met with Philippine Foreign Secretary, H.E. Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, in Cebu. Following their previous discussion in Malaysia in late December 2025, the two ministers expressed warm relations and sought new initiatives to deepen bilateral cooperation. They emphasized the spirit of close ASEAN solidarity, aiming to contribute jointly to regional peace and stability. DPM Prak Sokhonn also congratulated Secretary Lazaro on the Philippines assuming the ASEAN Chairmanship, expressing confidence that her extensive diplomatic skills would successfully address complex regional and global challenges.
