Washington D.C., February 20, 2026 \u2013 Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a cordial meeting and discussions with General Jim Jones and Mr. Frederick Kempe, Chairman and CEO of the Atlantic Council, respectively, in Washington D.C. The engagement took place on the sidelines of the Prime Minister’s participation in the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the Atlantic Council executives conveyed their profound gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for the opportunity to engage. General Jones and Mr. Kempe expressed a strong interest in gaining a deeper understanding of the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute, specifically its historical origins, subsequent developments, Cambodia’s diplomatic responses, and the potential contributions of the United States towards a peaceful resolution.<\/p>\n
In response, Samdech Thipadei meticulously elucidated the chronology and evolution of the Cambodia-Thailand border issue up to the present day. He highlighted the peaceful mechanisms consistently employed by Cambodia, underscoring the nation’s steadfast patience and unwavering commitment to diplomatic solutions. Samdech Thipadei emphasized Cambodia’s principled stance on resolving border matters exclusively through peaceful means, strictly adhering to existing bilateral agreements, conventions, treaties, and international law. He further asserted that the information shared was not based on unsubstantiated claims but rather on verifiable facts on the ground. The Prime Minister also called upon the Atlantic Council to assist in disseminating these factual accounts regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute to a wider international audience.<\/p>\n
