SIEM REAP —The 11th Angkor Empire Marathon officially commenced on the morning of August 2, 2026, in the historic province of Siem Reap, drawing a diverse assembly of 6,500 national and international athletes from 51 countries. The event underscores Cambodia’s burgeoning reputation as a premier hub for international sports tourism and cultural diplomacy.

The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Senior Minister and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC).
