PHNOM PENH: On the morning of April 1, 2026, at the Peace Palace, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, received a courtesy call and discussed work with H.E. Zou Jiayi, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), to strengthen strategic partnership and national development.
During the meeting, the AIIB President outlined the bank’s four priority policies: climate change and clean energy, regional infrastructure connectivity, technology-led infrastructure development, and private sector advancement. She emphasized that Cambodia is a vital strategic partner and reaffirmed AIIB’s commitment to supporting various development projects to foster further growth.
In response, PM Hun Manet congratulated H.E. Zou Jiayi on her appointment and noted that AIIB’s priorities align perfectly with the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy. The Prime Minister highlighted Cambodia’s goal to achieve 70% renewable energy by 2030 and emphasized ongoing improvements in logistics and energy to bolster the nation’s regional and global competitiveness.
Concluding the talks, the Prime Minister encouraged AIIB to maintain close collaboration with relevant ministries, particularly the Ministry of Economy and Finance, to ensure the effective implementation of cooperation projects for the maximum benefit of the Cambodian people.
